Bubbles!!!

Jason and I went to the mall yesterday. While we were there we stopped by Gymboree to buy the BEST BUBBLES EVER! We use these bubbles at BSF which is where I learned about them. They are absolutely incredible and I am NOT exaggerating!! It only takes a little to make tons of bubbles that don't just pop the second they are blown. They last mid air for a long time and sometimes you find them an hour later sticking to the wall or carpet...! Great bubbles and great fun!! They are $6.50 at Gymboree, and I highly recommend them.

The little things in life

I love me some fresh flowers!!! They add so much color and spunk to a room. Aaron surprised me with flowers and a sweet card Saturday night. I sure do love my husband!!!

Boo Bear

Right after Jason was born we were given a boo-boo bear (see picture below). I put the little ice cube pack in the freezer and the bear in the cubbard with no intention of needing it for a LONG time. 6 months later I find myself scrambling to the kitchen to retrieve the boo-boo bear in hopes of bringing comfort to Jason's "boo-boo" (which is NOT the word I use, almost anything is better than boo-boo in my opinion).

It broke my heart to hear him cry when he hurt himself! I always thought my initial reaction to my child being hurt would be panic (maybe in certain situations that will be my reaction), but the Lord gave me a great peace, and I was able to calmly deal with the situation at hand. Right after I calmed him down and was giving him snuggles, I began to cry. I realized that no matter how hard I try I can't keep him from getting hurt. I didn't have some crazy idea that my kid would never get hurt if I always kept close watch of him, I just didn't think it would happen at 6 months old. He's an active little boy and he is bound to encounter some scrapes and bruises along the way, and I am going to have to learn to deal with it.

Hallmark from Home

For over a year now I have been making my own cards and I am thouroughly enjoying it. I love the creative aspect to it, but more than that, I love the money I save by making my own cards. Here are just a couple of the cards I've made.

Pops

Last weekend we visited a place called Pops on Route 66. We have lived here for over 2 years and just recently had learned about Pops. It was fun to go see, but it would have been more exciting if it hadn't been so busy/crowded. It was a Saturday afternoon, and there was a HUGE wait to eat at the diner, so we just walked around, bought some pop, took some pictures and left. We will go back another time (not a Saturday) and stay for lunch. We certainly enjoyed the family time!

Redhawk Baseball

We bought tickets to 7 Redhawks games this season. The first 2 games we left early because it was FREEZING!! This last game was finally more like baseball weather (HOT), and we were able to enjoy the game not bundled up. We sit next to a father and son, and they are super friendly. We are so thankful not to be seated with a rowdy crowd.

6-7-8

Here are the vows that Aaron and I wrote and vowed to one another 3 years ago today. They were true then and remain true to this day. We thank the Lord for 3 wonderful years of marriage and look forward to many more!

Rebekah's Vows

Aaron, I love you, and with great joy give myself to you; you are my husband. In love, God has chosen me to be His daughter, and besides this free bequest of eternal life you are the most precious gift God has given to me. By God's grace and power at work in me, I promise to be your trustworthy wife, to be your helper and lover always, to be submissive to you as the church submits to Christ, and to respond to your headship as you lead us in the ways of the Lord Jesus, as long as God gives us life on this earth. I will respect you as my divinely appointed head and devote myself to you alone until we are separated by death. I praise God continually for you, Aaron! Your sweet love for me demonstrates the scriptural truth, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

It is hard to believe how quickly 3 years has gone by. MUCH has changed in our lives over 3 years. The biggest changes were moving to Oklahoma 8 months into our marriage for Aaron's job, and adding a sweet baby boy to our family. We can look back over the 3 years and see God's sovereign hand in our lives. We can see the goodness of God, and we are so thankful for His wonderful and gracious hand at work in our lives. We are still growing, still leaning on the Lord, and we are ever so thankful He is the foundation of our marriage.

For those of you who love cool dates, we have to tell you THAT isn't the reason we picked this date. That was the earliest date we could pick that worked out for everyone. One of my Aunts pointed out to us that it was 6-7-8.
